Internet Security Firm, Kaspersky has recently honored India as the top source of spam in the whole world.
The firm noticed that an average of 79.8% of global email traffic was spam during the third quarter of 2011. Out of these figures, 14.8% of the spam originated in India.
According to AFP, it seems that crackdowns on sending junk email in other countries have sent spammers to India wherein laws on the practice are little bit lenient.
The Internet Security firm, Kaspersky told AFP that the big problem is lack of awareness of technical issues in India which encourages cyber-criminals to create ‘botnets’ of computers to carry out spam attacks without letting users to become aware of any such activity.
