Mobile networks offline, for security or to save network costs?

Cellular services in following cities were terminated in the evening of 19th August 2012(chand raat). Reason told to public, "for some security reasons".

They will be restored today till 10AM, 20th August 2012 Eid day.

Customers of these cities effected: Multan, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi

Was it really for security reasons or to save network costs from massive Eid communications?
Do you remember past Eids when these networks tried to save their network costs on these kind of holidays by disabling minutes and SMS offers?

It was suggestions of one kanjoos multinational company. Same company is behind suggestions to stop providing free SMS delivery reports, free mobile balance checking, free call centre services, extra recharge and network maintenance charges etc. That company was kicked by Indian government due to gandi chalakian and gandi tricks.

That company is boss of Pak telecom unions and Masher-e-Khaas of PTA for telecom suggestions.
